Nityan is under active development. This notice describes the intended operation of our services and will be updated as product features and legal obligations evolve.
1. Scope
This notice applies to information processed through Nityan's website and finance and operations services. Nityan is designed for businesses, including convenience stores, and is not intended for personal, family, or household financial management.
2. Information we may process
The information involved depends on the features a business chooses to use.
Business and account information
- Business name, location, contact details, and user account information.
- Configuration, preferences, business rules, and support communications.
Financial information
- With authorization, account identifiers, account type, balances, and transaction history obtained through financial-data providers such as Plaid.
- Vendor invoices, receipts, statements, payment records, bookkeeping classifications, and reconciliation results.
Operations information
- POS, sales, item, price, cost, delivery, and inventory records supplied by the business or its authorized providers.
- Workflow status, review decisions, and corrections made by authorized users.
Website and technical information
Our public marketing website does not currently use advertising cookies, analytics trackers, account forms, or embedded third-party content. Hosting providers may process basic request information, such as IP address, browser type, requested page, and timestamp, to deliver and protect the site.
3. How we use information
We use information to provide services requested by a business, including to:
- Import, organize, and present financial and operational records.
- Prepare bookkeeping suggestions and match invoices, payments, deliveries, POS records, and inventory activity.
- Identify missing information, inconsistencies, and items requiring human review.
- Maintain connected-account functionality and refresh authorized transaction data.
- Support users, troubleshoot issues, protect the service, and meet legal obligations.
- Improve workflows using aggregated or de-identified observations where appropriate.
We do not sell personal or financial information. We do not use connected financial data for targeted advertising.
4. Connected financial accounts
If a business connects an account through Plaid, Plaid's services and privacy policy also apply. Nityan requests access only for the features the business chooses, such as importing transactions for bookkeeping and reconciliation. A business can revoke a connection through its financial institution, Plaid, or by contacting us. Revocation stops future retrieval but may not automatically delete records already needed for completed work or legal obligations.
Learn more about Plaid's privacy practices.
6. Retention and deletion
We intend to keep information only as long as reasonably needed to provide requested services, maintain reliable business records, resolve disputes, meet legal or contractual duties, and protect the service. Retention periods vary by record type and customer instructions.
When a connected account is revoked or a customer asks to close an account, we will stop future collection and delete or de-identify information that is no longer reasonably necessary, subject to legal, security, backup, and legitimate recordkeeping needs.
7. Access, correction, and choices
Authorized customers may request access to, correction of, or deletion of information associated with their business, or ask us to disconnect a financial account. We may need to verify identity and authority before acting. Some records may belong to the business customer that directed us to process them; in that case, requests may need to be handled through that business.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed for the sensitivity of the information involved. No system can be guaranteed completely secure. See our Security approach for more information.
9. Children
Nityan is a business service and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information through this website.
10. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as Nityan evolves. The effective date above identifies the latest version. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate channel when required.
